Volunteer Positions

Below you will find all of the volunteer opportunities at CrossRoads Church. Each ministry has unique positions with their own expectations. Browse through all the opportunities at CrossRoads and lets find out how God wants to use you!

CrossRoads Kids

Sunday Morning Teacher
  • K-4th group teacher – Following worship in main auditorium, watch a very engaging video with your class then lead a group discussion.

 

  • Work 1 to three times per month. Select 9am or 10:45 service.
Wednesday Evening
  • K-4th volunteer – assist with group activities – games in gym or outside and group lesson. Great way to mentor children in a fun atmosphere.
Wednesday Evening Helper
  • Assist with various activities – check in, crowd control, setting up snacks.
Substitute
  • Be “on call” to fill in when needs arise in children’s area!

Bridge56

Wednesday Night Helper
  • Hang out on Wednesday evenings with 5th and 6th graders for free time/game time then participate in our weekly service specifically designed for this age. 
Sunday Substitute
  • Occasionally fill in as a teacher after worship during the 10:45 service. Class watches a very interactive video then you will lead a discussion based on questions already prepared for you. 

EMERGE Youth

Adult Volunteer - High School
  • EMERGE: Although EMERGE is a student led ministry, Adult leadership is an absolute necessity. Adult leaders are encouraged to build relationship with teenagers, lead games, lead groups, bible studies, worship, serving food, general counseling, checking in and various other jobs. The main goal is, instead of doing adults are encouraged to teach and give their job to students. Come be a part of this team, training students to lead their Ministry!
Adult Volunteer - Middle School
  • EMERGEms: Middle School is a little different from High School. Students can not have all the same expectations, however we can begin to introduce them to leadership roles with adult supervision. As a leader in EMERGEms you will be asked to lead games, do some crowd control, and to bring stability through adult presence in this high energy environment. Come ready to have some fun with our younger students!
Special Events
  • Hosting, driving, and having fun with students as needed.

Worship & Production

Sound Tech
  • Works in partnership with the Worship Pastor and Worship Leaders to cultivate a life giving, passionate, and distraction free environment where people experience the presence of God.

 

  • Ultimately the goal is to glorify God through providing excellent audio services, utilize Behringer X32 sound console to mix the worship team, pastor, videos, and pre/post service playback music, Rehearse Sunday morning, serve in both Sunday services.

 

  • Regularly 1-2 times per month, in both morning services.

 

  • Available for Worship Nights and additional church events, Hands-on training Thursday evening rehearsals for new team members.
Video Live Stream Director / Camera Operator
  • Execution of a meaningful livestream and video recording with excellence.

 

  • The Video Director leads the entire Video Team on Sundays. Directs camera operators, creates an enjoyable environment for volunteers, setting the atmosphere in which volunteers serve.

 

  • The Camera Operator uses a video camera to lead worship through the lens of the camera. Setup Sunday morning, serve in both Sunday services.

 

  • Regularly 1-2 times per month, in both morning services.

 

  • Available for Worship Nights and additional church events, Hands-on training Thursday evening rehearsals for new team members.
ProPresenter Operator
  • Works in partnership with the Worship Pastor, worship leaders, and pastors on stage to lead the congregation in worship.

 

  • Ultimately the goal is to glorify God through providing distraction free presentations, utilize a software program, ProPresenter 7, to display graphics, videos, song lyrics, scriptures, and trigger lighting cues, Rehearse Sunday morning, serve in both Sunday services.

 

  • Regularly 1-2 times per month, in both morning services.

 

  • Available for Worship Nights and additional church events, Hands-on training Thursday evening rehearsals for new team members.
Instrumentalists / Vocalists
  • Use instrumental and vocal gifts to produce best quality worship experience.

 

  • Proficient on your instrument/vocals, Identify your part and play/sing in-tune, ability to play/sing as a group, play/sing with a click track, be prepared and punctual on scheduled weeks, rehearse on Thursday evenings, and Sunday mornings, Serve in both Sunday services.

 

  • Regularly 1-2 times per month, in both morning services.

 

  • Available for Worship Nights and additional church events.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Greeter
  • Greet guests at front door before the service with a welcoming smile and a bulletin. Be aware of people who look like they need direction, and take them where they need to go.

 

  • Outgoing, friendly, and upbeat personality.

 

  • Regularly (1-2xs per month) during one of the two morning services.
Welcome Desk Host
  • Host the welcome desk before and after the service. Answer questions about the church, events, groups, or how to get involved.

 

  • Outgoing, friendly, and upbeat personality.

 

  • Regularly (1-2xs per month) during one of the two morning services.
Ushers
  • Welcome people into the auditorium during the service. Assist people in finding seats and answer any questions that might arise. Close Doors when service begins & open doors when service ends. Also take head-count attendance during the service, as well as count cars.

 

  • Outgoing, friendly, and upbeat personality.

 

  • Regularly (1-2xs per month) during one of the two morning services.
Discover Lunch Help
Scheduling/Adminstration
  • Assist ministry leaders and the administrative assistant PCO with group scheduling.

 

  • Administrative gifts, able to communicate clearly (in-person and electronically), familiarity with computers.

 

  • Regularly (1-2xs per month) as available.

OTHER MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

Communion Prep/Serving
  • Prep: Getting the cups filled (juice and cracker).

 

  • Serving: Willing heart to serve.
Men's Ministry
  • Bible Study Leader – prep and lead lessons Host / Set up – prep coffee and refreshments for meetings Special Events – cooking / hosts / organizing.

 

  • Bible Study Leader – ability to teach / spiritual maturity Host / Set up – hospitality / friendly / outgoing Special Events – various as needed.

 

  • Bible Study Leader – 1x week host / Set up – 1x or 2x a month Special Evets – as needed (1x or 2x year).
Shine Women's Ministry
  • Decorating, set up/clean up, greeting, food prep, food service, various jobs specific to event, etc.

 

  • Desire to fellowship with other women / friendly / fun / willing to sign up and show up!

 

  • 1-6 times per year, as needed for Women’s events.
Prayer Ministry
  • Spiritual maturity / Interview / Approval by Elders / Training

 

  • Sunday mornings: 1-2 x per month.
Administrative Support
  • Office assistance: copying, preparing bulletins, connect cards + offering envelopes, etc.
Life Group Leader/Host
  • Host: open up their home for guests.

 

  • Leader: general understanding of Biblical Theology- ability to teach and lead discussion- administration (group organization)

 

  • At least once a month, up to once a week.
Cooking Team
  • Assist with Food Prep and service for: Discover Lunch, Special Events, and Community Needs.
Celebrate Recovery - Tech
  • Operate sound board and video screens for large group in the auditorium.

 

  • Familiarity with sound and church technology.

 

  • 1-4xs per month (as available).
Building Maintenance
  • General Maintenance – repairs and upkeep.
  • Handy with tools and knowledgable w building repairs.
  • 1x or 2x month.

 

  • Painting : touch-ups, repaint afer wall repair.
  • Neat, tidy, familiarity with painting.
  • As needed.

 

  • General gardening: weeding, trimming, mulching, and general upkeep.
  • Physically capable, gardening knowledge.
  • As needed.

Set Design/Construction
  • Source, construct, fabricate, and create set designs for Sunday services, special services, and/or special events.
