Darren was born and raised on the west coast of Canada in the uniquely cosmopolitan city of Vancouver, British Columbia and accepted the call to pastoral ministry soon after high school. He attended Summit Pacific College in Abbotsford, BC (Bachelor of Theology: Pastoral Theology 1990) and later attended Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois (Master of Arts: Christian Studies 2009). Darren has been in full-time ministry for more than 20 years – he was Student Ministries Pastor at Broadway Church in Vancouver (1990 to 1999), Associate Pastor at First Christian Church in Decatur, Illinois (1999 to 2010), and is presently Lead Pastor at CrossRoads Church in Decatur, Texas. He and his wife Dana were married in 1991 and have a one son, Gabriel.
Darren’s passion for running and a good cup of Starbucks coffee is eclipsed only by his passion for his family and God’s call on his life. Darren loves all sports, either as a spectator or as a participant. That said, running has always been his biggest obsession. In ’04 he ran he first marathon in Chicago, Illinois. In ’05 he and Dana both ran the big race. Since then he’s run 3 more marathons. Being Canadian, Darren also loves hockey.

“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.” Acts 20:24
